Christmas Miracle Puppy's Story...
This approximately 12 week old Saint came into rescue weighing only 12 pounds and needing life-saving, emergency abdominal surgery to remove foreign objects that she had ingested. Among many objects found were broken Christmas lights which had perforated her intestine, causing intestinal fluids to fill her abdominal cavity. The surgeon who performed the procedure didn't give her much of a chance of survival, but she beat the odds and became the Christmas Miracle Puppy when the doctor proclaimed that she would make a full and complete recovery with no lasting effects of this ordeal! A week after surgery, she is up to 12 1/2 pounds (still less than half of the weight she should be), and is the happiest, sweetest puppy you could possibly ever want to meet. The lucky family who is chosen to adopt this sweet pup will be in a foster-to-adopt position until such time as the vet feels it is the right time to spay her. If you would be interested in adopting her, please fill out and submit an adoption application from our web site at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted shortly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Christmas Miracle Puppy, a Bellflower St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
