My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, does Nicholas ever have a story to share! This beautiful 18 month old yellow lab was running loose in a small town, living on whatever he could find to eat. A very kind lady took him into her home and once inside, she realized something was very wrong with Nicholas' mouth. She tried to get him to eat, but he did so very gingerly and did not eat much. She contacted Lucky Lab Rescue and Nicholas was gladly accepted into the rescue. He immediately received vet care from LLR's vet. Apparently he had suffered blunt force trauma resulting in injuries to his mouth from likely a bad human. Dr. Heather was able to fix the wounds, but in doing so he lost some upper teeth. Nicholas will always have an underbite as his nose is shorter than the bottom of his mouth. He should not need any further medical treatment as he is healing great and has suffered no lasting effects from this trauma. All through his medical care, he displayed only gentleness and love to everyone that helped him. Nicholas is a true survivor and a very Lucky Lab! He is great with older children (over 6), fine with other dogs, likes to play with cats, good with adults, house trained, and crate trained. He loves to be with his people more than anything else. He walks okay on a leash but, he could use some more practice. Nicholas is a wonderful boy, who sits for a treat and is a gentle, kind and loving soul. He is of average size for a male lab weighing about 60 to 65 lbs. Nicholas is fully vetted, neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations including rabies and he is also micro chipped. If you can give Nicholas the home he deserves and can show him all about real love, please submit an online application and indicate Nicholas in the notes section.
