My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KenMarRescue.org orphans want to thank Joelle J (USA) for becoming a sponsor to our orphans via our Guardian Angel program. It is because of the generous donation contributions from Joelle and from individuals like YOU that we are able to continue our life-saving work. Thank you for helping to save Sedona's life Joelle!

If you'd like to make a difference in a more meaningful way, consider becoming a Guardian Angel to a needy orphan. For more information on the Ken-Mar Rescue Guardian Angel Program, please click here:

Meet Sedona! She's between 3-4 y, 10 lbs, spayed female Terrier. She enjoys walks and car rides. Crate trained at night. UTD w/all shots (inc Rabies), flea treatment & de-worming.

Exercise and Walks - If alone more than 8 hrs, a Dog Walker is recommended and, if possible, Doggy Day Care a couple of times a week. Learning to walk well on leash.. Recommend a 5-6’ leash so she is easy to control…gets very excited when she sees small dogs. Always use a harness not collar for leash.

Barking - Only barks for a reason i.e. door bell, mail person, etc.. Not yappy. She will “call” to you when she sees you leaving for the day.

Affection - Enjoys her humans and is a polite lap sitter. She is a perfect lady at the table and does not beg but instead patiently sits and waits for a morsel to “fall” from above or just a pat on the head for affection. She loves belly and ear rubs.

Commands: and discipline - Knows sit but not reliably yet.. Responds to a sharp NO when doing something wrong. VERY smart, would benefit from training.

Door Darting - Not yet trustworthy about not darting out of an outside door. She is also an escape artist Eager to learn w/proper + positive correction.

Play - Plays well with other dogs. Tends to be the alpha.

Sleep - Sleeps in crate from 10 pm to 6:30-7 AM.

Feeding – Currently 2X daily, wakes up with a hearty appetite for breakfast + has a late lunch before 6 pm. She typically has a bowel movement about 1 hr after each feeding. Currently on a combo of grain free wet food and kibble.

Grooming:- Enjoys visits to the groomer. She received an "A+" report card from the groomer and was a little sensitive only when getting her nails clipped.

CAR Safety – Enjoys car rides. Doggy seatbelt harness recommended or travel crate. Needs to be secured BEFORE opening car door to avoid darting. . She is so excited to be going on a walk that she forgets STAY.

Sedona is very sweet, eager to learn and please. She is a prime candidate for Obedience Training and maybe Agility Training since she is so attentive and smart!
