Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for calm, laid back furry companion, Louie is the perfect dog for you. Louie is a handsome little guy, who just turned three years old in December. He weighs 13 pounds and has a beautiful coat of white and tan brindle markings. Louie has a long cascading tail that plumes beautifully when he walks.
Louie previously belonged to an elderly woman who just lost her husband. She had to move out of state and unfortunately was unable to take Louie with her. She surrendered him to our rescue, hoping that he would find a good home. Louie had not been around many other dogs, and his first experience meeting his three foster Shih Tzu siblings was a little intimidating for him. He was a bit shy at first, but he quickly came out of his shell when the other dogs engaged him in play and now loves their company. Louie was very excited to go on his very first walk and seemed in awe of his new surroundings, displaying a stately prance as he walked. Louie may need a little encouragement and patience as he gets used to a new environment, although he is curious and responds well to new situations. Louie’s favorite resting place is on the head rest of an overstuffed chair or sofa where he has a bird’s eye view of everything going on in the house.
Louie would do nicely in a home with another small dog for companionship and where someone is home most of the day. Louie’s foster mom would like his family to live in the Twin Cities area so she can visit him occasionally. She also would like Louie’s new family to attend our Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion which is held each year on the third weekend in June. Louie is healthy, neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $320.00 plus Minnesota sales tax.
