Meet Pumpkin! She is a velcro dog who craves attention. She will rub up against you to get a nice scratch. She will nuzzle you for a head rub too. She will make a great cuddle buddy. She is a bit shy but is working with a foster home to help her come out of her shell and show her that she is loved. She is food motivated so should be easy to train. Pumpkin will make a great family pet, a senior persons pet or anyone who would like a sweet medium sized dog to give you unconditional love. She was a owner surrender with no information given. Who could give up such a sweet girl? She still has her shy moments when there is a lot of activity. It will take a gentle and understanding hand to make this girl feel confident and safe in new and strange surroundings. Once you have her confidence, she is a wonderful, beautiful soul. Pumpkin is crate trained, spayed and up to date on her shots. Does Pumpkin sound like the dog for you?

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
