My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tanya is a young female beagle, approximately 3 years old. Tanya somehow ended up in the animal shelter. Luckily, HBHR was able to pull her and get her to Houston and into a foster home. When Tanya was pulled from the shelter, she was heart worm positive. She has been treated for the heart worms & is now in perfect health. At 14 inches tall, she weighs a perfect 25 pounds!

Tanya is a very sweet girl who loves attention from her people. She was probably not treated too well by her prior owners, she will cower sometimes at loud noises, or if you walk in her direction fast. But, she recovers quickly and will come to you giving kisses to make sure you are not mad at her.

Tanya seems to be more secure when she has another dog around her. She takes her cues on what to do from the other dogs & seems kind of lost when she is alone. She seems to prefer young active male dogs to female dogs. When Tanya is with older quieter dogs, she is calm & quiet. When she is with younger active dogs, she has a blast running & playing. She loves her foster brother and was very sad while he was at the vets for a few days, and was extremely happy when he returned.

Tanya is house trained with a dog door. She has had a accident or two when the dog door was shut, but does well when she has dog door access. She has the run of the house while her parents are working. She is very good and does not get into or chew things that are not hers. She enjoys snuggling with you while you watch TV. She also will snuggle close to you at night and will stay put all night.

Tanya loves to go on walks and gets very excited when the leashes come out. She also enjoys trips to the dog park. She has not been around cats, but seems very interested in the ones she sees on walks. She will alert you to their presence with her cute beagle bay.

Tanya would do great in an active family, that will spend time playing with her and loving her. She would do best in a home with another dog for her to play with. She is sweet, loving and playful. She keeps her foster parents laughing with her antics. If you think this sweet girl will fit in with your family, please fill out an application so you can meet her
