Peanut's Story...
Peanut (1-2 years old) was a small and scrawny little girl out on the streets when it was discovered that she was pregnant. Into the house of a caring neighbor she came, and she hasn't left since. She gave birth to 4 kittens who were all adopted out, and while her caretaker would dearly love to keep her, it's Peanut's turn to find a new home. She is a total sweetheart, will come when called, and loves the company of people. She's not shy around strangers and loves attention, especially in the form of petting. She will spend the night curled up at the foot of the bed, preferably with a leg or foot as a pillow. Peanut will paw at her food dish when it's time to eat, and she energetically pounces and runs about when it's playtime.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Alexandria Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
