Here's what the humans have to say about me:
They call me a "Diamond" in the "ruff." I don't know what's so funny about that, but it sure seems to amuse the folks around here.
I was on the redline list when many people rallied to have me pulled from the kill shelter in 2013. They had to scramble to put together another kennel with panel scraps, but they got it done …
They knew, of course, that I was way too beautiful to not have not ended up at the shelter without there being underlying issues. Sure enough, I had kennel cough; fleas had done a job on my rear end; my teeth were worn down and chipped; and ... yes, I was heartworm positive. It appears I may have been used as a breeding dog as well. Fortunately, I only had adult worms and was healthy enough to be spayed. No more breeding for me. I get to be the baby now. I flew through my heartworm treatments with the greatest of ease. I had no idea anything was going on, and it didn't slow me down a bit.
I'm a young, happy girl around 4 years old. I can be a little "energetic" and dominant around other dogs (especially females) and children. They are working with me on that, but for now, I would do best in a home with an experienced Jack family (without female dogs) who understands dogs like me and can offer me some continuous attention and guidance. Any other dogs would need to be submissive and understand that I'M the rock star!
Other than that, I absolutely love humans and live to snuggle and give kisses. You can dress me up and parade me around all you want to. The people here certainly do. I don't even mind baths ... even though I didn't say I like them ...
