Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I can’t really figure out what kind of little doll Sousa is, other than cute and funny.
Her momma looks a tiny bit like a beagle blend, but Sousa seems to have more interesting colors than that – one half of her face is completely white and the other side is tri-colored! She is simply too unusual with her black button nose and funny little face!
She obviously must have some beagle in her because she IS her momma’s daughter, but she may also have some sort of little terrier. However, her coat is soft, smooth, and wavy, unlike most terriers.
Little Sousa is likely to stay under 30 pounds full grown – maybe she will grow to be about 25, but who knows? At 6 months old, she now weighs 22 pounds, so she is likely to stay smaller-to-medium sized.
Sousa would make a great family companion -- she is a perfect dog for kids -- gentle, mellow, loving, not barky, not a wandering, not a digger -- just an al-around love puppy!
Sousa is one of a little of adorable pups who were invite to be in a photo shoot for a photographer who does best-selling dog books -- the fancy photo books that people call "coffee table" books. The photographer had all of the pups in a very warm heated pool where they were quite the great little super models!
The photographer is doing a new book on puppies in water and even he was amazed and pleased about how well socialized and calm little Sousa was, even though she had never been in a pool before. She was very relaxed and adventuresome – not timid or afraid of the water at all – they all seemed to love swimming in the tepid water , which makes me think this little sweet-potato will be very adaptable puppy in any environment.
Sousa is excellent with cats – I also do kitty rescue and foster, so all of my dogs grow up with she was raised with a litter of kittens so she thinks kitties are simply off-looking dogs.
She is also great with other dogs, big and small.
Sousa is also fabulous with children – she are not nervous or anxious, so even little children do not faze her.
All of our puppies will be spayed or neutered, have all of their baby shots (a series of 3 for distemper, parvo, adenovirus type-2, and para-influenza); their rabies shot and whatever other incidentals they need to be healthy, happy family buddies.
