Hopson's Story...
Hellooo people! My name is Hopson and I am one handsome man - LET. ME. TELL YA! I realize you are asking yourself why a Golden Retriever rescue would have a Great Pyrenees on their website up for adoption. Well, it's because I am so darn sweet and I am thinking the volunteer got me confused (Actually she didn't but tell anyone that) I was in a very high kill shelter in Kentucky with no hope. The good news is I have a Golden personality. I knock your elbow with my giant head for pets, I play with other dogs like a CHAMP and a shed like no one's business - so ya see - I am just bigger and whiter version of a Golden Retriever. Oh yeah, I am over 100 lbs, but muscle people, not fat. I am about 3 years old and looking forward to this life I keep hearing about - toys, dog beds, swimming - all that stuff. I love my foster home - lots of dogs to play with. I am ready for a great life! So if you are looking for a GIANT white golden with a winning personality, it's me - Hopson. If interested adopting in Hopson, visit our website at If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hopson, a Danbury Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Danbury, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Danbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Danbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Danbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Danbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
