Meet ZEE. Four year old neutered male wirehaired dachshund, about twenty pounds. What an adorable guy! Zee is playful and well behaved. He needs more attention than he is currently receiving because another family dog has medical problem and soaks up all the owners' time and attention. Zee is older kid, dog and cat friendly. Loves to cuddle and play with his kong. He may be perfect for you! Come and get to know Zee.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
