“Come on Vamanos, everybody let’s go”….

Hola! I’m Dora….yeah, like Dora the Explorer! I’m a pint-sized, 48lbs., 4.5 year-old little lady who’s ready to take on the world! I spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to start my new adventure! I spent so many years in a horrible puppy mill, it’s hard to believe I am still so sweet, cuddly and curious, but I always knew there were bigger things out there for me! I immediately climbed up on a chair in my foster home as soon as I walked in the door…. Oops, I didn’t mean to be rude. I just wanted to check the place out…especially what smelled so good in the kitchen! Of course, I get scared at times, but do I let it stop me?? No sir, not this girl!! I just take things slow and with the encouragement of my foster mom and my CEBR friends there’s nothing I can’t do! My foster home is in the city and I love going for walks around the neighborhood and making new friends (both human and doggies). I’ve gotten the hang of this leash-walking thing and when I’m outside I see a bunch of other dogs doing it too! Who knew?? It’s a trend! I’m a fast walker since I want to see everything and everyone, but I’ll slow down if you need me to. Stairs were new to me, but I climb them like a pro now! I’m recently potty trained… and doing pretty well at it. Like I said, I’m a lady, so in addition to doing my business outside, I don’t jump or bark… It’s just not classy. Oh, and I like to cross my paws when I sit … My foster mom thinks it’s funny, but I think it’s only proper.

Like my namesake, I love to learn and would do really well with an obedience class. I would love to learn the basics of “sit”, “down”, etc… everything I missed those years in the mill. You bring the treats and I won’t disappoint! Also, I’m doing really well on potty training but I may need some additional patience. I love to cuddle, be petted, and generally gets lots of love. Snuggle time is a must!

My ideal forever home would be one that gives me a lot of playtime and attention but isn’t too loud or busy. I’m the only dog currently in my foster home and I’m ok with that, but I would enjoy either living with or near other dogs that I can play with. I’m friendly with all types of people and, although there are no kids in my foster home, I think I would do well with them. I would really like a forever home that is patient and committed to my training and I will give endless snuggles and kisses in return. Well friends, I’m off to do some more exploring.

Adios!

xoxo Dora

NOTE FROM THE HUMANS

Dora’s adoption fee is $575. Our adoption criteria for Dora are as follows:
  • CEBR Adoption Radius Only.
  • No extra-loud environments. I’m ok with the city, cars, buses, trains, etc… but when I’m at home snoozing I get scared if there is a lot of ruckus.
  • Must be committed to training. I love to learn!
  • Must have a flexible schedule or arrangements for a walker mid-day to keep me on my potty training schedule and accident free.
  • I would like to have the opportunity to socialize with other dogs regularly, either by having a full-time fur sibling or a play group.
