My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Shy Girl With A Sweet Spirit

Oh hello. You caught me off guard. My name is Lulu. Pleased to meet you. I’m a terribly shy little girl, at just 4.5 years old. I spent my first 4 years living in a crate, day after day after day. Yes, it is heartbreaking isn’t it? I was a puppy mill mom. I was kept in a commercial breeding facility and was bred 2x per year. I was useful if only for my puppies. So I never had the chance to live in a home, sleep in a dog bed, or even eat food out of a proper bowl. I was manhandled for breeding, but never shown any human love. SO now that CEBR has rescued me and brought me into their care, I have to learn how to live as a pet. I have to learn to trust. I know I can…it’s just taking me a while and it will be a slow process.

The good news is that I am healthy now. I am spayed (finally) and up to date on my vaccines and microchipped too. When there is activity or people around I tend to hide in my crate, but just when I think you might have left the room or aren’t paying attention, I slowly come out and poke around. But then you see me and I run back. Each time I spend more and more time out exploring and I’m getting bolder by the way.

They say the key to me learning the ropes in a human home is to have another canine companion or two by my side. I take my cues from other well behaved dogs and follow their lead. So I desperately want a home where I can be one of the pack, and learn from my elders.

I have the most adorable rump. They say I have big hips. I’m not offended. I kinda think it’s funny. And I have a corkscrew tail that looks like the top of an ice cream cone. I’m a petite little lady and my feet pitter patter ever so gently.

I want to find a home that can take things slowly with me, let me learn to be part of the canine pack, but also offer me all of the comforts I have missed my whole life.

You can learn all about my rescue called Project New Beginning if you visit CEBR’s website at http://www.ebullymatch.com.

Nice to make your acquaintance.
