My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a large Midwest territory. We are the longest standing Bully rescue around and the only 501c3 charitable bully rescue in town. Become a fan of CEBR on Facebook or join our Meetup Group. Stay connected with cute bulldog pictures, stories and get daily updates on all things bully!

Well hello there! I am the one and only Sadie! I have been looking for my forever home for quite some time. I have been passed from home to home for as long as I can remember. CEBR received a call from a good Samaritan saying that they had helped rescue a bully that was passed around between “town drunks.” The latest insult was when someone left me to go on vacation, my temporary caretaker didn’t feel like caring for me, so dropped me off at the pound. Pahrump!

So, we aren’t totally sure of my exact age and history, but what I am able to share with my foster family is that I am an all-around precious and special girl! At this point in my life I am done with my gypsy travels from home to home and ready to find a nice fluffy bed that I can call my own. We’re thinking I am around 7 years young – and don’t let my age fool you – while I have sophistication and class like a mature woman, I still like to play like I am a much younger version of myself. I love plush toys to sink my teeth into. I do like to chew on hard bones too but I become a bit protective of them so you have to remind me to mind my manners. Not sure why, but I get snippy around certain toys and food when it comes to other dogs so just watch closely as I am integrated into the home. I am working on changing this behavior but I might need a bit of reminding every now and then.

I am continuing work on my potty training and am doing a pretty good job. Occasionally forget that I should let my foster mom know that I need an extra visit outside and may have a piddle in the house. But I get better by the day and am a smart girl. This won’t be a problem for long.

And in all of this, I am a bundle of love! I got a clean bill of health from the vet, phew! And I do have a very special trait that makes me even more adorable. I have no toes on my left front foot! I honestly can’t remember if it was an accident, or if I was born this way (I recall being born this way…..I think). But it doesn’t stop me, slow me down, and frankly, it makes me super cute. I can run and climb stairs with the best of them.

I just want a family that I can call my own. I have so much love to give and so many kisses saved up.... who wants them?

Love me. Love my silly toes!

Sadie
