My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a courtesy listing and is not actually a part of our rescue. If you are interested in meeting and potentially adopting Chloe you will need to contact her rescuer at: 925-525-5721.

Chloe is a beautiful young girl, just under a year old now. She and her brother, Leo, were found running alongside a county road by a Good Samaritan who still has them. He has made sure they are up to date on everything from vaccinations to de-worming. Luckily for Chloe and her future family, this Good Samaritan has also trained champion hunting labs and and the following is information about Chloe straight from him:

Chloe is between 45-50 pounds and is on the energetic side and is the dominant of the two. She will need a firm handler as she has been living with her bigger brother and is used to playing rough. Chloe loves to give kisses, though, and will train easily with treats and a firm hand.

Chloe is kind of skittish, especially of things in people's hands like she has had some abuse - poor baby. She is now sitting, walking on a leash and learning to heel. She is also learning to kennel-up.

Chloe will require lots of attention as she longs to have her belly scratched. She was under-weight when she was found and, due to this, can be very food protective from other dogs. However, she will not bite at humans over food (I move her food bowl all of the time.) Chloe loves to explore the yard and eat small things.

If both she and her brother are adopted together, Chloe will need to be watched with other dogs as she is very protective of her brother, thus I recommend splitting them up. Put her in a kennel alongside of her brother and she does not make a peep.
