My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The first order of business for Runner, a gorgeous, 2.5-year-old Golden mix, should be obedience training classes. He really needs to master the command “come”. He arrived at Animatch as an unclaimed stray from the SPCA Valleyfield. Runner is not only handsome but he wants to please. In addition, training will help him overcome his shyness and boost his confidence. Runner is particularly reticent around men. Although some dogs are not comfortable around men because of some past maltreatment by a man, it is not always the case. Frequently, it is just because they have not been exposed to a lot of men in their life. Men are larger and have deeper voices, facial hair, different features, etc.; if dogs don’t meet many men in puppyhood they can become fearful. Time, patience, and positive reinforcement around men will help Runner to realize that they pose no threat. Ideally, Runner’s new family should have a fenced yard to keep him safe. He will need lots of daily exercise – walks, runs, playing fetch, etc. If you feel that you are the family that can offer this beautiful boy his permanent home, please fill in the Adoption Form.
