My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted out as a young pup from CAA, Lucky was recently found wandering as a stray, one front foot and ankle broken- healing but misaligned. Not so lucky! After failed attempts to reunite him with his owner, he became a FOTA foster dog. Heartworm negative, a 6-8 month old shepherd/terrier mix weighing approximately 40 pounds, he sports the most beautiful sable colored coat- sleek and shiny as a wet seal. His eyes are the color of the honey ambered glow of sunset, doleful and expressive and hint of the adventures he has had and the stories he could tell. He will tip his head to one side, his bigger-than-need-be ears flipping this way and that, and proffer his damaged paw as though seeking forgiveness for some transgression- a sight that could make the angels cry.
Lucky will have his foot surgically corrected and then he will be ready for adoption- to become the dog you never knew you wanted then couldn’t live without. Most people will never step inside an animal shelter; most dogs will never step out. Lucky made it. Maybe he is Mr. Lucky after all.
