James Bund was originally purchased from Petland, but the family had small children that played too rough with him so he started nipping in order to defend himself. The family took him back to Petland and said that he was trying to bite them. They started calling him “Angry Bunny” and Petland refused to adopt him back out because they believed he was aggressive. A local vet took him into their clinic and neutered him in hopes he would calm down and could be adopted out through GHRS.
During his stay at the clinic, he never once exhibited any signs of aggression, before or after surgery, and after healing from his surgery went into a foster home. At first, he was very skittish but with time, he started becoming more comfortable. Now, he runs toward you when he sees you, he nuzzles your hand to be pet and has no issues with being picked up. He will close his eyes when you scratch him between the ears and might fall asleep during snuggle time. He had free run of the house and has learned not to chew on things (with the occasional mishap here and there). “James Bund will usually follow me to whichever room I am in, or hop up on the couch when I am watching TV and lick me (bunny kisses!!) or just lay out on the living room rug in front of his cage and sleep.He gets along fantastically with my 4 cats, loves to chase them through the house. He loves his greens – comes running when I show up with them! He also reallllyyyy likes oat hay. I think most of all he likes being a part of the family. He is very interactive and curious. He is still very young, maybe just a year or so. I think he will get along great with other animals and with children that can be GENTLE with him.”
