Everyone, PLEASE SAY A BIG, THANKFUL HELLO TO BABY HERSHEY! A 12 week old male, dark chocolate with some cream (photos don't show his beautiful colors), dachshund who will overcome his first 12 weeks of life in just a short little while. He loves to give kisses and while Valentine's Day is just short of a month away, those chocolate kisses will steal your heart! We will take in applications for his forever home adoption, but in the meantime, will be staying with me until he his healed. (Adopter will need to sign contract to neuter when Hershey Bar reaches 5.5 months old, cost not included in $395 fee.)
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
