My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Her soulful eyes are the windows to her heart. She'll woo you with her stature and her mushy personality. Her smile is enough to melt any heart. She is a little girl wrapped in a bigger body and she doesn't let her baby weight stop her from exercising her heart out. She loves to run, to play, to snuggle, to be loved. She is 2-yr old little girl wanting to burst out of her shell and play and know she is home. She pretty much thinks that she is mini dachshund and finds her way into your lap, on your head, on your back and into your heart. Penny is an absolute joy to be around. She isn't afraid of other dogs. She likes her boundaries and she likes to know that you respect her space like she respects yours... well, ok, only until she warms up to you and then, all bets and beds and shoulders and laps are off. She'll be yours!!

She isn't afraid of vacuums. She isn't afraid of baths, in fact, she loves to be pampered like a Queen because after all, she considers herself royalty and is wondering: "now, where did I put the directions to my palace?". She plays well with others. She walks like a champ. She is a super star traveller: not a peep from Miss Penny. She likes to bask belly up in the sun. If you happen to catch it, she'll surprise you with a smile. She is curious. She is loving. She is happy. She is ready for her FURever home.

This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms, but will be fully treated before leaving our care. The adoption fee is $375 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 3:30. An additional $75 fee will be added for puppies picked up from our Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. MA residents are no longer allowed to adopt from our adoption center or our adoption events due to MA regs. All MA adoptions must be finalized prior to the puppy leaving our care in TN.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
