My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

July update: Maggie's southern foster mom says, "she is not a barker at all. I think I can count on one hand how many times I have heard her bark. If we don't kennel her when we are out, she will collect things from around the house and lay with them until someone gets home, but she is not destructive. So at first I would crate her in a new home until you get to know her. Maggie loves to meet new people and has good manners. She doesn't jump up to greet, she is more likely to roll on her back for a belly rub."

Maggie is a beautiful, sweet girl who is between 4 and 5 years old. She is a shepherd/boxer mix who is just such a doll! She weighs about 55 lbs and has been through so much, we are just so happy that she is ready to find her forever home. Maggie was successfully treated for heartworm disease and now that she's tested negative she is ready to travel north. She was at an adoption event recently with our southern partner rescue and she let everyone pet her, especially the kids. There are no strangers in Maggie's eyes! She sleeps on a dog bed at night but when her foster family leaves she is crated. She can not live successfully with cats. Maggie is a medium energy dog, she is content to go on walks and play and snuggle with you on the couch. What a lovebug!

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup Rescue, https://sites.google.com/site/luckypuprescue33/, or request an application via email, luckypuprescue@yahoo.com.

Please note, we do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
