My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abe is 9 years old, miniature poodle.

He eats Wysung dog food and has for quite a few years. He eats a bowl of food in the morning and a bowl of food at night. He loves treats and table food... but it's good to keep him exercised as he can gain weight quickly in his old age with too many hand outs. He is house trained and asks to go outside. He will scratch his dog bowl if he wants water or food. He isn't amazing in the car but doesn't often have to go in the car. He isn't crate trained, although he may do well in one- he likes going under the bed or into his own bed for security. He can remain at home for several hours without having an accident but doesn't like to be left alone for too long.

he has remained incredibly faithful to me- and is a very faithful dog to those he knows- and even new people that come and sit on our couch. He slept on my shoulder the entire first night I brought him home and has remained a cuddly lap dog ever since. Abe loves to snuggle, and loves LOTS of attention. He loves sleeping in bed with me at night and would prefer to curl up on the couch with you over doing anything else. He does love to go for walks. He likes to play. He likes fetch but isn't so good at "dropping it". He knows a good amount of tricks for an older dog (sit, lay down, roll over, high five, come, stay). He likes to explore. He actually likes to play hide and seek. Much inline with the breeds reputation- he is a very smart dog. He is- in all honesty- a barker. He is very good about letting you know when someone is at the door- along with many other sounds. The barking has been tamed most recently with a citronella collar... it has seemed to help. (I could not bring myself to use a shock collar). He is very good on leash and won't cause problems with other dogs. He will approach other animals and does fine with them but doesn't love puppy play as he's now an older dog.
I believe he may be much more calm in a household where he is the primary focus.
