Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
PLEASE CLICK ON "READ MORE ABOUT THIS PET" FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION!
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Rosie is a gorgeous purebred English coonhound. She’s on the petite side at 48 pounds and she is around 3 years old. Rosie just adores kids but does best as an only pet. She gets along with some dogs but not all, and she is not safe with cats. Her hunting instinct kicks in as she was bred for hunting. Rosie is sweet and gentle and will actually jump up and hug you! She also loves to be outside sniffing in the fenced yard when the weather allows. Coonhounds have a single coat and cannot be outside long in very cold weather. Rosie is house trained and crate trained. She walks very well on a leash and has good manners. A physically fenced yard is required for all hounds as their noses lead them astray. Rosie is with a 501c3 rescue. Her adoption fee is $200.00 to cover her spay, heartworm test and on prevention, shots for parvo, distemper and rabies, worming and she has a HomeAgain microchip. If you’re a one pet family, Rosie is the girl for you!!!!!
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
