My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Asher is a shy, but sweet & silly boy. Don’t let his initial shy demeanor fool you, because this boy is all about the snuggling. Asher is a tremendously soft and pettable pooch who is approximately two to three years old and 35 pounds.

While Asher is a very mellow dog that needs a gentle hand, he can also be quite playful and enjoys spending a good deal of time outdoors. He does very well in a fenced-in yard, but does need to be leashed when out and about. Asher is fully housebroken, can be trusted when alone, and does not need to be crated during the day or at night. He loves to snuggle up in bed and sleeps very well all night long.

Given Asher’s nature, he will do best in a home without young children. He will make a warm and tender companion in the right home. He lives and plays well with other dogs, but would also do fine as a solo pet.

All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Sunday September 21, 2014, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, at their new location, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
