My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

PLEASE CLICK ON "READ MORE ABOUT THIS PET" FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION!

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

Nikko is a 2 year old min pin whose favorite thing in life is a small tennis ball. He will push it with his nose so it rolls toward anyone who might toss it for him. Then he’s off like a FLASH to capture it. He can hit ‘warp speed’ in a split second to get that ball for an instant replay. If you think there are Labrador retrievers out there who are nuts about chasing after a ball, wait until you see Nikko in action. He will put any lab to shame. If no one will play tennis ball with him, he will jump up on the sofa, push the ball off with his nose and then jump down and get it. If it rolls a distance away from the sofa, that’s even better. If you want a dog to play ball with you and retrieve your throws, Nikko, a little min pin is your dog! He is a cute and happy little boy who was rescued from a shelter in southern Minnesota. He is about about 2.5 years old and and 15 pounds. Nikko is a very lovable, snuggly dog who prefers to sleep under the covers. His coat is VERY sleek and soft, excellent for petting. He also likes to have fun with the other dogs in his foster homes. He has a very good temperament with the other dogs, the cat and the people. Nikko likes respectful kids who are 8 and older. Foster mom says Nikko has good house manners and is a very easy dog to have around. He is dependably house trained and loves going outside for walks as long as he has his warm clothes on.is with a 501c3 rescue. Her adoption fee is $200.00 to cover his neuter, heartworm test, prevention, shots for parvo, distemper and rabies, worming and she has a HomeAgain microchip. If you want a retriever but don’t have room for a lab, little min pin Nikko will play all day with you!
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
