My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a snuggle bug...then meet Ruby! She is so snuggly. She follows me around everywhere waiting for me to sit so she can snuggle into my lap. We named her Ruby and she responded immediately. She is the easiest dog to care for. She has been left home alone and has never gotten into trouble or had an accident. She should never see the inside of a cage! She is too gentle and well trained for that lifestyle. Ruby is an angel of a dog. Ruby is approximately 3 - 4 years old and weighs 13 lbs.

Here is what else her foster family had to say:

Ruby is mid energy level. She likes her naps, yet can run around outside and in the house playing with us. She has been on a few walks and doesn't slow down or need to be picked up. I haven't seen any fur shedding in our house.

Ruby is amazing with children. We have a 7yr old and a 9mth old. Sometimes the baby grabs onto Ruby and she doesn't even flinch. She sits with the baby and snuggles with the 7yr old. She is very friendly to strangers and people coming to the door. Ruby show zero signs of aggression. She barks only at other dogs or the doorbell. Ruby has been friendly with everyone she meets, no shyness. Ruby is sooooooo good with our medium sized dog. She actually snuggles up against him and follows him everywhere. We haven't taken her to the dog park.

I don't see any sign of anxiety. We never crate her as there is NO need. She is excited at the window and door when we return so maybe she's a bit upset that we've left. She has never made a mess. She doesn't play with toys or chase a ball. She loves her walks. Ruby enjoys just being with us, no matter what we're doing. She just wants to love somebody and be loved..let her curl up on your lap and she will love you forever.

She never steals food, she eats our dogs food from his bowl but may be confused. She mooches but has not been given human food. She can come and we are teaching her to sit for treats. I don't think she's ever been trained for tricks. Ruby is completely house trained. No issues. She has never been in a crate here. She is well on her way to be leash trained.

Ruby would do well in any home setting. She just needs to be getting enough attention. She thrives off it. She would do well with other dogs or alone. Ruby just needs a lap to snuggle up to and someone to lover her. We would keep her if we weren't fostering..it will be sad to see her go. She is a very easy to dog to care for. Even non-dog lovers have commented on her.

If you would like this little snuggle-bug to be a part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
