My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dakota is a 6-7 year old, gray female Malamute, great with other dogs, mellow, heartworm negative, spayed. Her owners dumped her at a pound because they were "tired of having a dog." We don't get it because this is one sweet girl and it doesn't seem like she would have been any trouble. The pound said she was great with other dogs and this is true. I loaded her into the dog truck, into vet's office, etc., and she's fine with people, too. The shelter staff were begging us to save this one. Two of my house dogs, a rescued labradoodle and a lab mix, are right in the face of any dogs I bring home (downright rude) so if she was going to get mad she would have. She was also good with my Sibe females here in the house while I took her picture. She weighs 67 pounds but is a big frame dog, big feet and much taller than my male Sibes even. She is THIN. She doesn't look bad in these pictures as she has a nice coat but she needs at least 10 pounds of weight. It appears these people haven't cared about her for quite a while and have not fed her much.
