Here is what else his foster family had to say:
Noodle just loves to be loved! He is very forthcoming and curious and wants to sniff you, however he shies away slightly when strangers try and pet him. After a minute he comes to terms and then will love you forever! He's constantly "hunting" the rabbit in our back yard but seems to be fine with other dogs. He shoes curiosity toward everything! Sudden loud noises can spook him, particularly if hes sniffing something out.... But sudden loud noises tend to spook most people, don't they? lol Noodle's favourite things to do are sleep, be pet, beg for attention, toss his rope toy around and lay beside or on you when watching tv.
He is quiet in the house. I haven't actually heard him bark. He whined once at the back door to let us know he had to go wee, but that's it!
Noodle follows his nose. If there's something on the floor, he'll play with it. So far our coffee tables have been left alone. If you have a blanket/pillow, sock left on the floor, he'll use it to entertain himself - but he's not destructive - He'll toss it about, or sleep on it. Noodle was completely untrained. Outdoors, all training goes out the window as the plethora of smells suck him in and he goes into his own little world. He still hasn't learned his name yet, but he responds indoors EXCELLENTLY to whistles and finger snaps.
He's got sit 95% of the time, as well as "down" when he hops or jumps up when he's not invited. I'm struggling with "stay" as he really just wants to come to you for some love! (he's a huge cuddler). He is pretty much house trained as he knows to go outside but he is not always the best at telling you so he needs to learn that. He's never had an accident in his crate while we're at work. He is fully crate trained. He won't cry until he's seen you walking around. Hes been amazing in the crate, and goes in with minimal fuss/resistance. On leash he is naturally well behaved. He rarely pulls or trails behind - just when he catches the odd scent. He's got hound in him - Look away for a second and he'll be following a scent - a well fenced yard will be a must! The good news is that Noodle doesn't RUN away from you. He's just on a mission to find whatever he thinks smells interesting - as such, he's easy to chase down, pick up and come home. He's ready and willing. He just can't help but follow his nose if given the chance! After he's sniffed everything there is to sniff, he curls up and goes to sleep. he is a pure joy in the car.
Noodle would be an AMAZING companion for anyone with older kids - He's a bit of a jumper (we're working on it, he's getting better) and might knock over smaller children. He would benefit from some training or consistent people in his life to help him learn the basics. All that being said, Noodle just has this look on his face that will melt the coldest of hearts on the coldest of days (and we've had some really cold weather!) All he looks for in life is the next person who will love him and keep him close. He's a true ladies man who really just wants some cuddles. Although I generally don't allow any dogs on our furniture, Noodles low shedding and the PURE JOY on his face the first time I let him up was enough to change my mind. He just wiggled up to me and flipped over on his back and just melted into me with pure love. His coat is nicely and a bit softer/longer than a regular Beagle's coat.
Noodle would be amazing with most families. The only thing I wouldn't recommend for him is young children as his tendency to "paw" and jump up for your attention may knock them over. The ideal home I see for him is an older family who is looking for a quiet, low maintenance companion to keep them company.
If you think Noodle would be a good fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
