Butters's Story...
Meet Butters a 1 yr old tiny 8 lb baby boy that melts in your arms like butter when you hold him..

Butters is an absolute beautiful little shih tzu looking for a home of his own. He is a very quiet little guy that gets along well with other dogs and loves to meet new people.

Butters is a very friendly little boy but due to his small size would prefer a home without small children that may accidentally hurt him.

Can you give Butters a home of his own?

Butters will be neutered,up to date on vaccinations, on flea & Heartworm preventative and microchipped before leaving for his new home.

Adoption Donation is $325.00

If you would like to meet Butters please complete an application by going to and either submit by email or you may fax it to 937-933-4066. Once we receive your application you will be notified if it has been approved and we can schedule a visit at that time.

The best means of communication is email as we are a small group of volunteers that work full time jobs and cannot always answer phone calls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Butters, a Urbana Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Urbana, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Urbana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Urbana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Urbana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Urbana paves the way for another one to be saved.
