Theo's Info...

I am already neutered, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.

Theo's Story...
Theo is GORGEOUS boy. He appears to be part Maine Coon or some kind of mix, with huge fluffy fur. He has a beard under his chin and orange and white coloring. He looks like a lion, and his way of relaxing with his belly showing makes him seem even more so. He LOVES people and enjoys being pet, laps, and keeping people company.

Theo is FIV positive. That means that he has a compromised immune system, but that he can still lead a long, healthy life. Many FIV cats live 10-20 years! However, many FIV cats can require things like extra dental care as they get older, and they need owners who are attentive to their health and try to keep them as unstressed as possible.

Theo adores people, but he's not a fan of other cats. We think he should be an only cat. He will be an incredibly wonderful companion to a human or humans of his own.

Theo's adoption fee of $95 includes his neuter, shots, deworming, and microchip and registration. He also had an eye injury when first rescued, though that has been treated and his fur is regrowing beautifully. To meet Theo, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Theo, a Chicago Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
