My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Houston, Texas and must be adopted within the Texas or Oklahoma City area.

NAME: Romeo
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 1 - 1 1/2 years
WEIGHT: 7 lbs.
DOGS/CATS: Loves small dogs, Good with cats
CHILDREN: Should be great with children
HOUSEBROKEN: Yes. Can also use a doggy door. Also crate trained.

Romeo is going to steal your heart! This little guy is a lover! He was thrilled to be pulled off death row from a local shelter, and is living such a great life now that he wants to share his love with everyone! He can't wait to find his forever home and share his heart with you every day!

Romeo gets along with everyone. He has been so gentle with everyone - no snipping at all - very friendly. We think he will do great in a family environment, including children. Romeo is a happy little boy who loves to play. He gets along great with both dogs and cats (there are both in his foster home). He enjoys playing with toys, sometimes playing "tug-of-war" with his brothers. Romeo definitely likes to win!

When he is done playing, Romeo is a huge cuddler. He loves to sit with his humans, even burrowing under blankets for extra comfort and warmth!

Romeo is really smart. He learned to use the doggy door in his foster home in less than a week. He is really good about going outside to potty. But like most Chihuahuas (and most humans - lol), he hates the cold and rain. So he has to be "encouraged" to go outside in the rain and cold! We are introducing pee pee pads to him to give him an acceptable option for bad weather days!

Romeo loves being outside. He loves the sun and loves to play outside. Romeo does have a little mischievous streak in him. He seems to enjoy playing a "dash and catch" game. During his stay in his foster home, Romeo has dashed out the front door when it was left open by visitors! When he does this, he does not go far. He appears to delight being chased while just barely evading being caught. Perhaps he thinks this is a game! We swear he has a big grin on her face while this is going on! And he will definitely come when you offer him a treat - thus quickly ending the game! Romeo's family might want to consider getting a small gate to put up around the front door to keep him safe, and prevent any unnecessary stress for your family. There are some very nice, low cost options available and we can advise you on this!

Romeo is an awesome dog. He loves to play with his puppy siblings and to love on his human foster family. He is great with children, and would make a terrific family dog. This little guy is full of energy and love -- won't you let him steal your heart?

Romeo is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could you be his perfect home?
