Libby's Story...
This beautiful young lady is Libby, a 2 year old chocolate lab that came to us from the south in search of a wonderful home of her own. Libby was picked up as a stray and when her time ran out in the shelter down in Georgia, she made her way up to us at Popcorn Park with some canine friends. Libby is an absolute love. She is a bit of a chubby girl and somewhat strong, but she's as gentle as can be and so very polite. Libby just loves people and though she appears to be shy when you see her in her run, she's actually quite outgoing and friendly once you take her out for a walk. Libby is very well behaved and will sit right away when asked. She loves going for walks and checking out the world around her. If something interesting catches her nose, she'll put her whole face in the snow to find out what it is. She's a smart and attentive young girl that would make a wonderful addition to any good family. Libby gets along fine with other dogs and loves people of all ages. She would love to start her life over with a family that will love her forever. File#23220 1/5/14

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Libby, a Forked River Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
