Taco's Story...
Taco is a baby Red Satin rabbit that was originally found as a stray by Somerset Regional Animal Shelter in Bridgewater, NJ. He is only believed to be 14 weeks old at the most and is very small. However, if we are correct about him being a Red Satin he could grow to be up to 9 pounds as an adult. Taco has a wonderful personality. He always wants attention and loves to be pet. We have had him around dogs and cats so that he is used to them. Taco is too small to be neutered at this time, but we would adopt him out on a contingency that we would take him to be neutered by our vet when he is 5-6 months old. It would make the surgery much less risky as we believe he is only around 10-12 weeks now. Please consider this sweetheart if looking to adopt before purchasing a rabbit from a breeder. We ask a $75 adoption donation to adopt a rabbit and this covers the spaying/neutering costs. In Taco's situation we would ask for the same adoption fee to be paid at the time of adoption, but there is nothing more to pay when we take him to be neutered. We would just ask that he is dropped off the night before surgery as we leave early in the morning and picked up that night after he is neutered. We can be contacted at tinyfriendsanimalrescue@gmail.com or through our website http://tinyfriendsanimalrescue.com/ . Thank you for considering adoption :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Taco, a Scotch Plains Satin was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Satin for sale in Scotch Plains, or seeking a Satin from a breeder in Scotch Plains.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scotch Plains already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scotch Plains breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Satin breeders who help with Satin rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scotch Plains paves the way for another one to be saved.
