My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KenMarRescue.org orphans want to thank Casey and her KMR graduate pup: Ditka (USA) for becoming sponsors to our orphans via our Guardian Angel program. It is because of the generous donation contributions from Casey and Ditka and from individuals like YOU that we are able to continue our life-saving work. Thank you for helping to save Montana's life!

Meet Montana! 1 yr, 12 lbs, UTD with shots, chipped + sterilized + collar + leash + harness + care pkg. Crate trained.

Affection - She loves belly and ear rubs. She is shy initially but warms up quickly.

Door Darting - She is not yet trustworthy about not darting out of an outside door.

Play – High energy and rambunctious. Loves playing with other dogs. Should be supervised with shared treats or toys.

Socialization – Loves to play rough and has puppy energy.

Sleep - She does great in a crate lined with a fluffy/cushy bed and linens/blankets so she can “nest.” I cover the crate (plastic or metal, she does fine in both) at night and she knows it’s “lights out” and goes quietly to sleep with no fuss. She is great from her last outing at about 10 pm to 6:30-7 AM, when I normally get up. Because she is fine in a crate, she would probably be fine on an airplane under your seat.

Feeding & Meds – Fed twice daily. She always wakes up with a hearty appetite for breakfast and also gets a late lunch before 6 pm.. She typically has a bowel movement about 1 hour after each feeding. I have been feeding a combo of grain free wet and grain free kibble as much as he wants. She is up to date with all shots (including Rabies) and has been given flea treatment and de-worming pills (part of our protocol for preventative wellness. Spayed + microchipped.

Barking - Only barks for a reason i.e. door bell, mail person, et. Not yappy. She will “call” to you when she sees you leaving for the day but subsides after a few minutes. As with all rescues, they need time since they have had many traumatic experiences.

Montana is very sweet, eager to learn and please. She is a prime candidate for Obedience Training and maybe Agility Training since she is so attentive and smart! She will develop into a very loyal and loving little girl when she finds her forever home.

If you or someone you know might be willing to adopt me, please complete an Adoption Questionnaire at: KenMar Rescue.org. Upon review, we’ll schedule a “meet and greet!”
