Dakota's Story...
Hi! My name is Dakota. I'm a 10 month old 40 lb Canaan/Husky mix. FOR rescued me from a rural shelter, and boy am I glad to be living inside with my foster brother and family. I love everyone and am generous with my kisses but am not overly needy and can be a little shy at first. I love running and fetching, especially stuffed toys. I am house broken and only cry a little in my new crate. I am learning to walk on a leash and the basic commands. My favorite activity is definitely playing with other dogs. I'm cute as can be and super soft plus I am the perfect size for any household. Since I am active I would do best in a house with a big yard and other dogs to play with or with someone who is active and would let me run with them or take me to the dog park regularly. I'm going to make a loyal, loving, smart companion to my FORever home.
I'm fostered near Huntsville, AL and you can meet me by emailing info@FORrescue.net. You can also complete an application for me at www.FORrescue.net, click on resources. Thank you!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Knoxville Canaan Dog/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Canaan Dog/Husky for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Canaan Dog/Husky dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Canaan Dog/Husky breeders who help with Canaan Dog/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
