My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Addie is a 1-2 year old spayed female with natural ears and a docked tail. She was pulled from animal control in east Texas where she was abandoned at a house by her owners who moved off and left her there alone. Luckily neighbors cared for her for two months but ended up bringing her to animal control. Addie was only available to rescue and that is why we felt the need to take her into Last Hope. In the shelter environment she was very scared but our foster fell in love with her immediately and brought her home. Now that she has been in her foster home for some time we know that she is heart worm negative and a healthy girl. She will see our vet this week for all other needs. Her previous owners were deaf and Addie is overly vocal and is learning when it's okay to bark and when it is not. She is an energetic wiggly girl who loves to play by herself with a toy and run around in the yard. She learned to "crate up" on verbal command within two days and crates very well at night and when foster mom is gone. She has also proven to be house broke. Addie has done well with other dobermans and small dogs at the shelter. We are still socializing her with other medium sized dogs since she was the only dog in her previous home. At this time she has proven to do well with other Dobermans male/female but seems opposed to other breeds of dogs oddly enough. She has started to learn to walk on a training collar and lead and was a natural the very first time. Addie would be suitable in a home that has patient owners since she is still cautious at times and with other friendly dogs or with a dog she can meet first. She will continue to get lots of socialization/training and we will keep you updated on her progress!

Addie is fostered in Nacogdoches Texas.
