Indie's Story...
Hi. My name is Indie. I am a 5 year old, male, white and black cat. I am an affectionate guy, looking for a responsible forever home. I am very mellow and easy going. I would do well with children, other cats and likely even an equally mellow, cat-savvy dog. I am declawed so I am looking for an indoor only home since I do not have the ability to properly defend myself. I am on the chubby side and would greatly benefit from a good quality diet fed in twice daily meals. I love laser pointers so that is another fun way to help me get my daily exercise. If you think I would be a good match for you, please head up to Whatcom Humane Society today and we can get to know each! If you are over 55, please ask about Whatcom Humane Society’s Young at Heart adoption special!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indie, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
