My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Hermes! I am a very lovable 18 month old boy weighing in at a sleek and muscular 14-15#. I'm a beautiful dark seal color with white patches on my neck & white paws.

I am full of energy and love to play fetch with my foster mom & dad (I can catch really good.) I also love to play tug with my iggy foster brother Maddox & run around the yard, but spending time relaxing in the recliner with my foster dad, just by myself, is great too. I can also sit & stay when asked. My potty skills are very good now, & I even use a supervised doggie door when I need to go without being told. Even with a foster brother, I do not try & mark my territory like some male dogs do...actually, I prefer to squat rather than hike when I go! I walk very well on a leash, & don't even have to stop for potty breaks while walking.

I came to Rescue with a pretty nasty case of crate anxiety. I even rubbed off part of my canines from spending lots of time trying to chew out of confinement before I arrived. The vet checked out my teeth, and he says they will need to be well cared for to keep them healthy, but that's an iggy requirement already-so we are all good there! My foster parents have put in lots of TLC to gradually show me that being in a crate for a reasonable amount of time is okay and I am doing great now! I sleep all night in the crate with my foster brother at night, and do well in there by myself during the day when my foster parents are away for a few hours. Yippee for Me! Everyone said I would figure it out, and I did!

I am now ready for my forever home and would love to have a playmate of comparable size and energy level. I would also do best with a family that has lots of time to play with me. Could that be you?
