Let me introduce myself, I’m Schnitzel and I’m looking for an active family that would love to involve me in their lives. I am a 5 year old active Dachshund and I LOVE to go for walks, runs, play with other dogs and car rides. I weigh 15.5lbs but don’t let that fool you; I have TONS of love to give!!!
I like being active to burn off energy, challenge me daily to see what I can do. I really enjoy running with my human, so if you are training for a run, let me be your pace dog. I am definitely more at ease with a confident and respectful leader that can help me understand that the world is not a scary place. I have tried to play with cats; however we really don’t understand each other, so I think that it is best that we live separately. If you're familiar with my breed, you know how smart we are and that we were bred for “hunting”.
I am house and crate trained. I am comfortable being left alone, but I would also LOVE to have a playful, energetic sibling to play with. My ideal home would be one with an active, energetic family. Oh, and before I forget, the nice people at TPDRC have made sure that I am neutered, micro-chipped, had my teeth cleaned and that my vaccinations are current.
