Winter Rose's Story...
AVAILABLE 06-28-12 Winter Rose is a young female who is very good with other cats. She is a beautifully marked black and gold Tortoiseshell with a large gold spot covering her face. She came into the shelter as a stray in a trap. She was sick with a simple upper respiratory infection and went straight to a foster home with an employee. Winter Rose was too sweet; even sick and in a trap she was all purrs and rubbed the bars. She is litter box trained and has seen many cats come and go in her foster home and she was lovely to all. She is up to date on shots and has been wormed. She is good with her foster mom's 8 year old girl and will stand to be petted. Her schedule is all open to any adopter who wants to come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and adopt this one of a kind friendly girl.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winter Rose, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
