My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet LOUIE!! Louie is a young Green Iguana that was rescued from a not so suitable situation and is now looking for his forever home and happily ever after.

I have him in a 40" x 30" x 72.8" cage with plexi-glass on the sides and back to keep heat and moisture in. It has wood shelves with fake grass (special ordered kind), and a post in the middle with Sisal rope (like on a cat scratch post). I have heated ceramic lamps, along with the UVA/UVB light over his basking area, all on the top of the cage. I have a humidifier in there as well. I only feed him fresh greens and veggies (and he loves mango for a treat).

He is taken out daily, usually will walk to me and let me hold him for short periods of time. He loves to be patted, but can be finicky . He will close his eyes and thoroughly enjoy for up to 10 minutes or so and then may get restless. He also is trained to go the bathroom in one very large reptile bowl with some water in it (does not go anywhere else). Louie is used to a good deal of human interaction, but he is still skeptical at times. So an experienced home would be preferred. He does like to be held, but after about 10 or 15 minutes, he crawls down and starts exploring. He is not aggressive, but would do well with someone that is experienced and can work with him.

LOUIE is currently fostered in Warren, RI. For more information on LOUIE, please contact us.
