Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sully is about 3 or 4 years old. He’s a real sweetheart. Last fall he wandered into the backyard of one of our volunteers. We think he was probably abandoned.
He’s very friendly and absolutely loves to be in your lap ... will sit there for hours if you let him. Though we think he was probably abused as he has “issues” with sticks, string, rope and things thrown at him (including toys). He is litter box trained and doesn't spray.
Unfortunately, Sully was diagnosed with a “faint positive” for feline leukemia. Since he is positive for FeLV, he cannot be with other cats who are not also positive.
The volunteer who is fostering him recently spoke extensively with a Vet about his condition. She said they can be healthy for years, sometimes as long as 10 years, then suddenly go downhill, usually with anemia or lymphoma. There are supplements that are recommended as well as some holistic remedies, but nothing cures the leukemia. It just keeps it at bay.
