My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Toby and I’m one and a half years old. I remember when the children would come home from school, all excited and eager to play with me. Boy, did I have fun! As I got a little older, I noticed they played with me less and less; they were just too busy, is what I told myself. Even though, we weren’t playing as much; I still waited all day long every day for them to come home from school. I’d always hope, maybe today they’ll want to play! But all I’d hear is, “Not now, go away”. My heart would sink each time they pushed me away. I would rack my brain trying to think if I did anything that was bad or was I just not cute anymore. All I know, is I would have done anything they asked of me, I loved them so much and just wanted things back to when I was younger. One day, I found myself walking through a busy intersection, scared and didn’t know which way to go! How did I get here? Cars passed me by, no one looked familiar or even stopped to help, could they not see the terrified look on my face? Suddenly, a man stopped and called out to me, asked me if I wanted a ride. He looked friendly and he had a big dog with him. So, I jumped in. I felt bad because I couldn’t tell him where I lived; I didn’t have any identification on me. He took me to the vet’s office where they ran a scan over me; and nothing, no chip! He took pictures of me in hopes of finding my family. I heard over 7, 500 people saw my Facebook picture and I had over 280 shares. Still no calls; and none to the shelter! I’m okay, I have since received some medical treatment which I needed, otherwise; I would have gotten very sick. I have been staying with a family that has children, cats and other dogs. I like them all and we have been playing every day. I don’t take affection for granted; when my human friends love on me, my whole body melts into them. I am a mellow kind of guy with a playful loving side, who is just looking for a family to call my own. Please go to www.foreverhome4dogsrescue.com to fill out an adoption application.
