My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Abby. A sweet, gentle girl, who has had her whole world disrupted. Abby is 6-1/2 years old, and lost her home and her elderly human when her human was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer care for her. Abby had traveled to New Jersey from Louisiana with the hope that she could stay with her human in a new caretaker home, but that was not to be. Abby was rescued by MAJR after they spotted her advertised "free to a good home" on Craig's List in New Jersey, and she is now residing in a foster home in Lebanon, PA, with five canine siblings, and a cat. Considering Abby's world has been turned upside down, she is doing amazingly well. She is sweet with her foster parents and slowly getting to know her foster siblings. She is afraid of her foster cat, doesn't make eye contact, and manages to walk big circles around her! Once again a feline has the upper hand! Abby loves to be close to you and lay next to you. She revels in receiving love, and is gentle with giving love. She would make someone an amazing companion. Abby is crated during the day while her foster parents are at work, and is being trained to sleep on a dog bed on the floor next to their bed at night. Abby "sits" on command, does well on a leash, and this long legged girl loves to go outside to explore and go for walks, although all of this snow probably has this Louisiana girl in some shock! MAJR was provided with no medical records on Abby, but she is under the care of a veterinary center who will make sure she is brought up-to-date on all vaccines and any medical care necessary. Abby is spayed, and housebroken. Please give this sweet girl another chance at a forever home.
