Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jake is a very sweet 3 year old male cat that we took in when his owner was evicted. He has a mild case of CH, if you are familiar with CH. If you are not familiar with CH, it is an abbreviation for Feline cerebellar hypoplasia. It is a non-progressive, non-contagious neurological condition that results in walking and balance problems.
CH cats are known for their “drunken sailor” walk, which is why they’re known endearingly as “wobbly cats.”..It’s important to remember that the cat isn’t sick, weak or hurt; she’s simply uncoordinated. Unless a CH cat has other health issues, their life expectancy is the same as a cat’s without CH. Since the condition is non-progressive, it will never get worse. All that means is that he walks with a wobble. It wont get worse, and he wont improve, and his case is very mild.
Jake lived in an autobody shop his whole life and made out just fine. He lived with 2 dogs, and loved to wash them. His owner says he used to fall asleep with Jake in his lap. He is just a bundle of love and gets along with everyone.
His owner said everyone that came into the autobody shop loved to see Jake and they called him Shakey Jake.
Please email his foster mom at amra444@msn.com if you would like more info on Jake.
