My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hoyt is a 5 year old, neutered Chihuahua with a heart of gold! His previous owners turned into the shelter on what they said was his 5th birthday (Jan, 11, 2014.) Can you think of anything sadder? Shelter life was very scary for Hoyt, and yet he was such a good boy that he qualified for foster care through the North Central Animal Shelter after 19 frightening days in the pound. Now he spends his days with his foster parents, a newly married couple who want to try to help him find his forever home. They think he deserves it more than anything.

Hoyt is up to date on shots, microchipped, and a healthy, happy boy - although he does have a fractured back molar. His foster parents think he is so special that they're trying to raise money for his dental work so he can hopefully go to his new home with a clean bill of health!

Weighing in at 12 pounds, Hoyt enjoys walks, playing with his cat foster siblings, and loves being around other dogs! He's also very friendly around children (although we always recommend supervision for any dog.) He's also crate trained and potty trained, and his foster dad is currently helping him to master "sit," "stay," and "shake." Hoyt is a GREAT friend and a true companion - he will make a perfect pet for a lucky person!
