My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB January 12, 2012.

Joon is quite an endearing character. A very social and affectionate girl, she has the personality of a kitten despite being rescued from a traumatic hoarding situation. Joon makes herself at home, likes to say hello in squeaks when her owner returns, and is not afraid to ask for rubs and pets. She will show off her belly accompanied by a prominent purr and squirm across the floor like a little worm. She doesn’t like to be picked up but will gladly take any form of rubbing. She will also sit with you while you work or relax in any position, sometime upside-down!

Her quirky and social personality rubs off on Marlin with whom she has bonded with prior to her rescue. Marlin, the maternal one, keeps Joon clean, although at times it may seem they are more like licks of affection than of hygiene maintenance. Joon follows Marlin's example, eating and drinking when she does. On the other hand, Joon will communicate to Marlin that a situation is safe, like being pet by her owner or jumping up onto certain surfaces. Joon will also coax Marlin out of her shell and initiate play time. A favourite game is one like tag, full of action and call-and-response. Whether they are playing or just hanging out, these two communicate with each other in small who's and rolling hums.

Together they are quite content being alone at home for long hours of the day, just as well as they enjoy the company of their owner. Because they are still learning to trust people, a quiet environment and a patient owner(s) would be beneficial for these two. It is ideal that they get adopted together as they bring out the best in each other and have grown to make up for each others shortcomings. Because they have each other for support, they will warm up quite quickly and will make a wonderfully fun and charming addition to their new home.
