My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2/7/14 Salem is approximately 4-5 yrs of age and we are starting a fund raiser to repair his best rear leg. He currently has grade 4 luxation of the patellas so they are not in the best of shape. If you would like to make a donation on Salem's behalf you can go to our rescue page. www.pethavenrescue.org. He is doing great. He tries to run and play with Sophie (who is more mobile) but his legs won't support that activity. With public support we can meet our goal for the surgery. Thanks in advance!!
Meet Sophie and Salem. They came from the county shelter and have a sad story. The dogs were confiscated from a hoarders home. They were found living in a plastic tub and in a hole under the floor. 10 small dogs ages 3-12 yrs. The dogs were discovered with the report of the owners death. Our little Sophie has no rear feet.. more than likely a birth defect but she was still used as a breeding machine. She is approximately 5 yrs of age and is currently being treated for dermatitis and or a skin infection courtesy of her living environment. She will be pretty in no time. She gets around fine on her semi formed pad. Her companion Salem is a handsome 3-4 yr old neutered male chi with deformities of rear legs/knees. His teeth aren't as pearly white as hers but he has teeth. He too has dermatitis that will clear up in no time with supplements, good food and TLC. We are hoping to raise funds to repair one knee so that he can get around better. His rear legs support him but running would be out of the question at this time. It is sad that is the only life they know. We are introducing them to the grass and a clean environment with lots of room to roam and smell the fresh air. If you would like to make a donation on their behalf. Please go to our web site. www.pethavenrescue.org
Our puppies are spayed or neutered, current on vaccines/deworming, microchipped and have flea/tick prevention applied. Our adoption donation is $250.00. Adopting a puppy is a lifetime commitment. Are you ready for a new found friend?
