Harper's Story...
Meet Harper! He almost got put to sleep at the pound because he protected his food and growled when someone tried to take it away from him. Well, heck, I'd growl too if I was hungry and someone tried to take my food away! Harper is a very happy little boy. His tail is constantly wagging and he loves to run around and play outside. He is protective of his food and toys so we feel he would do best in a home where he's the only dog and getting all the attention.
Harper is a strong little guy and does pull on the leash in excitement of going outside. He would be an excellent candidate for basic obedience. Rat Terriers are very smart dogs and I'm sure Harper would catch on quickly.
Harper has already learned to be nice in his foster home and but hasn't learned to be nice with his foster doggie brothers. Harper protects his people and wants all the attention. He appears to be housebroken and even goes to the door when he needs to go outside. Harper also leaves the cat alone. Harper would love to have a boy or two to play with in his family. Will you be his new family? Weight: 20 pounds Approximate Age: 2 years old Adoption Fee: $150 + $25 microchip Mini Mutts Rescue does consider adopting to families with young children

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harper, a Ashland Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Ashland, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Ashland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashland paves the way for another one to be saved.
