My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aphrodite. This sweet 4 year old thought she had a bright and secure future ahead of her when she was adopted last year, however, all that changed when she found her way back to our shelter today. For over a year, Aphrodite grew to know and depend on the familiarity of life within a home. Smells. Noises. Soft carpeting to walk on. A grassy backyard to call her own. Now familiarity and routine has given way to the unknown. A last car ride with her person ended not at a doggy beach or drive through for a guilty pleasure treat, but instead here, where home is a concrete kennel. The echo of barking dogs greeted her as they bounced from the walls. Bright fluorescent lighting illuminating further the departure of Aphrodite's person and past. Now she sits, trying to make sense of a new normal, all the while holding out for the hope that a family that once had time for her, will return and swoop her into loving arms. That's not an easy feat though- Aphrodite is understandably confused and worried. She remains planted to the front of her kennel, soft chocolate brown eyes trained on the doorway with the sound of each new footstep entering our dog kennels. She paces. Pants. She sends a mournful howl to the life she knew.

It is our hope that this confusion is short lived- that Aphrodite will be given a second chance...a lasting chance...at a home life that she so adored. Would you like to be that person for Aphrodite, whom she can depend on 'fur'ever?
